Research

Current Research Focus

My research sits at the intersection of psycholinguistics, computational linguistics, and speech-language pathology, with a focus on how children develop language and literacy through morphological knowledge and writing. I use automated text analysis tools—particularly ScriptSense—and corpus-based methods to examine students’ written narratives and connect these insights to evidence-based assessment, intervention, and implementation practices.

Current Doctoral Research

Development of ScriptToolKit

A suite of tools (ScriptSense, ScriptPrep, and ScriptGuide) designed to support automated, equitable analysis of children’s writing. My ongoing studies validate ScriptSense and examine linguistic and cognitive predictors of morphological complexity and writing performance in school-age students.
